AH32 steel: exploration of the marine field from characteristics to applications

AH32 concept: AH32 is a high-strength hull structure steel. "A" represents the quality grade of the steel, indicating that its impact test temperature is 0℃; "H" represents marine steel; "32" represents the minimum yield strength of the steel is 315N/mm². This type of steel must be produced in strict accordance with the classification society's specifications, and meet the use requirements of ships in complex marine environments by adding alloy elements and optimizing smelting and rolling processes.

AH32 features: It has high strength and good toughness. While ensuring the strength of the hull structure, it can effectively absorb external force impact and resist the beating of waves; it has excellent low-temperature performance and can still maintain good impact toughness at 0℃ to prevent brittle fracture of the hull structure; it has good welding performance, which is convenient for welding and assembly of hull sections, and the weld quality is reliable; it also has a certain resistance to seawater corrosion and extends the service life of the hull.

AH32 size: The common thickness of the plate is 6-50mm, the width is generally 1500-3000mm, and the length can reach 6000-12000mm; special specifications can also be customized according to the needs of ship construction to ensure accurate adaptation to the structure of each part of the hull and meet the design requirements of different ships.

AH32 application range: Mainly used to manufacture the hull structure of ocean-going ships, such as the bottom, side, deck and other parts, to withstand various loads during the navigation of the ship; also suitable for some structures of offshore platforms, such as jackets, upper module support structures, etc., to maintain structural stability under complex marine conditions, and is an indispensable key material in the field of shipbuilding and marine engineering.
