St37-2 A Classic Choice for General Construction Steel
St37-2, defined in DIN 17100, is a common structural steel known for its excellent plasticity, toughness, and weldability. With a typical yield strength of around 235 MPa, it is widely used in general construction. Its composition includes low carbon (≤0.20%) with small amounts of Mn and Si, offering good forming capability.
It is typically delivered hot-rolled, with normalizing applied when improved uniformity is required. Its low carbon level ensures excellent weldability for a variety of fabrication methods.
St37-2 is used in steel-frame buildings, bridge panels, machinery parts, beams, supports, and welded components. It remains one of the most commonly used structural steels in European engineering.
