Technical Advantages of API 5L X52 (L360) Line Pipe Steel

API 5L X52 (L360) is a high-strength line pipe steel with a yield strength of about 360 MPa. It is widely applied in reliable oil and gas transmission systems in complex environments.

X52 is known for high strength, excellent toughness, corrosion resistance, and reliable low-temperature performance. It adapts well to welding processes, making it ideal for long-distance pipeline construction.

The chemical design includes low carbon, low sulfur, low phosphorus, and microalloying with Nb, V, and Ti. This combination provides a good balance of strength, toughness, and weldability.

X52 is supplied in controlled-rolled, normalized, or TMCP delivery states. TMCP material demonstrates excellent crack resistance and toughness.

Applications include high-pressure gas pipelines, deep-well transport, offshore engineering, city gas trunk lines, and chemical fluid pipelines.
